August featured Artist: Amy's Funky Fibers

08/23/2017

We’ve met some great new artists this summer! It was a pleasure to have Indianapolis fiber artist Amy Gunderson visit our town, and we’re so happy to introduce her wearable art to Greencastle.

Amy creates her unique scarves by hand painting, hand dyeing, nuno felting, shibori dyeing, and eco dyeing fibers. Her silk infinity scarves are super soft, and her funky fringed scarves are long and comfortable for layering. Our favorites are her painted silk scarves with silhouettes of leaves from Indiana woods and gardens, etched into the fibers through a technique Amy has perfected.

Come in and try one on, and peruse Amy’s Etsy shop for more

It has been a busy summer at Conspire! You may have noticed work by a number of new artists in the shop. Here are our new additions for August- stop by and see what’s new.

dRock Press is a Lexington, Kentucky based letterpress with a penchant for wild, fantastical animal mashups, monster cats, and more. Check out our collection of prints, original art, stickers, shirts and faux tattoos in Derrick’s unique style.

Bees Knees Industries makes some of the cutest and coolest cat stuff around. You will fall in love with this Oregon artist’s purrmaids, catterflies, caticorns and more. We now carry stickers, enamel pins, prints and cards made by Cate.

Cup & Kettle Tea Co. is a new Bloomington-based tea shop. Owners Kayla and Jessica hand blend their organic and fair trade teas into yummy and exotic new flavors with gorgeous, gift-able packaging. Come have a sample at the shop!

We also have lots of new t-shirts, stickers, and prints from our artists in stock just in time for school to start and Depauw classes to resume!
